My parents weren't very happy I came home bruised and hurt. I don't know
There's talk that the might not want me to come back. They still don't quite understand what happened. But neither do I I'm trying to tell them this sort of thing doesn't normally happen but they're very concerned that the school doesn't have good security or that it was a terrorist attack. Was it a terrorist attack?
I hope everyone has a happy Holiday.

The holidays are so close now, aren't they? It seems this first part of the year has sped by, when it seemed like a few months was terribly long when we started. I'm looking forward to seeing my parents, but it's almost a little sad to leave Hogwarts. It's so pretty decorated for the holidays and I think on how much studying I could do if I was here. Still, I know my parents won't mind me bringing some of it home for the holiday, and it will be very nice to see them and have all the familiarity of home again for a few weeks.

This sponsorship drive seems like a very good idea, although I have to admit I can't really contribute or participate in any of the contests. Best of luck to those who are participating, however!
Private to Gryffindor Yearmates
It's too bad we can't think of something to contribute. Not that I want to win, particularly, but it's nice to do something helpful for the holidays.

I don't think I like Quidditch very much.
He's going to be all right, isn't he?

It's rather odd, but I would think that after a few months in an enchanted castle I would become used to the magic that surrounds us, but it always seems just as I am becoming certain I know all the castle's tricks, I stumble upon something new.
I never knew that ghosts could live in toilets.

[Hexed Extremely Private]
I do not understand people. Especially boys. Sometimes I feel that between Lavender and Parvati and Harry and his band of Merry Men I've been dropped into a completely foreign land - one where people are exceedingly loud, do ridiculous things, and do not know how to spell.
They aren't even worried about their exams. This year is only the entire foundation for the next six years of study. Considering their performance, if I were some of them, I'd be studying more and playing less exploding snap. Some of them need all the help they can get.

If anyone is thinking about forays to the Hufflepuff common room for treats after hours don't think I won't tell Professor Kettleburn. We'll be in enough trouble already if anyone finds out about our almost encounter with the troll when we went looking for Trevor. I don't really fancy spending an entire term in detention. Especially with all of you.[/hex]
If there is anyone in Hufflepuff in need of a toothbrush or floss I have plenty extra. I also have a book on teeth cleaning charms.

I think everyone needs to just calm down and think about this reasonably for a moment. It's a known fact that Trolls have very poor eyesight and are attracted to sudden movements and loud noises. That means panicking is not an appropriate way to deal with their appearance.
And it isn't as if the Professors would let anything happen to any of us.
